STYLING HTML with CSS

STARTING with HTML + CSS

This blog is meant for people who want to start using CSS and have never written a CSS styles sheet before. It does not explain much of CSS. It just explains how to create an HTML file, a CSS file and how to make them work together. Here are some steps to add more features to the HTML and CSS files:

STEP 1: WRITING THE HTML

In this step, I suggest you use only the very simplest and common tool which is the notepad. Once you understand the principles, you may want to switch to more advanced tools, but for your very first CSS styles sheet, it's good not to be distracted by too many advanced features.

STEP 2: ADDING SOME COLORS

You probably see some black text on a white background, but it depends on how the browser is configured. So one easy thing we can do to make the page more stylish is to add some colors.

STEP 3: ADDING FONTS

Another thing is that is easy to do is to make some distinction in the fonts for the various elements of the page.

STEP 4: SAVING THE STYLE SHEET IN A FILE

Save the file on your computer. Select File>Saveas in the notepad menu. Name the file and set the encoding to UTF-8(which is the preferred encoding for HTML files). You can use .html as file extension.

Example of styling an HTML code using CSS:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<style>
body {background-color: pink;}
h1   {color: gray;}
p    {color: black;}
</style>
</head>
<body>

Puffing volcanoes,gloriously green rice terraces, and white-sand beaches you'll reminisce on for years to come–the Philippines is simply tantalizing. Favourably for visitors, its currently has been on a decline for a few years. Another bonus is its accessibility with cheap flights due to its proximity to Southeast Asia. <p><b>5 TRAVEL HACKS TO FIND THE CHEAPEST FLIGHTS</b><br>
Are you sick and tired of paying thousands of pesos for international flights? Well, we’re absolutely in the same page.
Travel doesn’t have to be expensive. If you know how and where to look, you can find the absolute cheapest flight and be traveling the world in no time<br>
<b>1. SPOTTING A DEAL WORTHY OF YOUR TIME AND CREDIT CARD</b><br>
Before you get into booking, it’s imperative you know what a good deal actually looks like so when you see a cheap fare you know to book it before it’s gone.
Here are great prices from the Philippines to a few major spots around the world:<br>
Vancouver: ₱81,158.00<br>
Sydney:  $217<br>
Aruba:  ₱150,531<br>
Amsterdam: $615<br>
Honolulu:  ₱50,680<br>
These are fare ranges our team looks for every day. If you end up finding cheap flights in these ranges, you should book fast.  Follow tips 2-5 to learn how to actually spot these deals.<br>
<b>2. BE FLEXIBLE WITH AIRPORTS</b><br>
Check out ALL airports close to where you live, as well as to your destination if you want to end up finding the cheapest flight. I highly recommend looking from airports within 2 hours driving. Some of the best deal’s we’ve found have been from airports other than our home airports.
Remember, budget airlines in Philippines are extremely cheap. Finding cheap flights is more of an art than science in some cases<br>

<b>3. BE FLEXIBLE WITH TRAVEL DATES</b><br>
The easiest way to find a great deal is to be quite flexible with your travel dates.

This can be tough if you have limited time off from work. However, try to plan far in advance. Sometimes you can save a hundreds of pesos if you leave on a Thursday as opposed to a Friday for example. Rather than picking your dates first, try and see when it’s cheapest to travel and work backwards.<br>

In addition, booking last minute almost always never works out. In my opinion, never wait until the last minute unless you have to. When you see a great fare 2-3 months in advance for domestic flights and 3-8 months in advance for international flights you should book them.
Overall, Friday and Sunday are usually the most expensive days. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday are the absolute cheapest days to travel.<br>

<b>4. USE GOOGLE, MOMONDO, AND SKIPLAGGED TO SEARCH AND BOOK</b><br>

I highly recommend visiting at least 3 websites when you’re looking to find the absolute cheapest flight. These are our favorites and always bring back the cheapest fares. They also allow you to put into play the tips listed above. Try to go through these sites in numerical order.<br>

<b>5. USE FARE ALERT SITES TO FIND MISTAKE FARE.</b><br>

Mistake fares are simply when airlines mistakenly publish incorrect ticket prices like when a ₱1,038 roundtrip flight from Atlanta to Cape Town was actually priced at ₱11,380 roundtrip.

<b>A FEW BONUS TIPS & TRICKS:</b>

Have VPN access? Try to use your VPN to access the flight comparison sites and set your location to a poorer country with a different currency (not USD, GBP, AUD, etc.) as the flight tickets may be lower that way.
Try clear cookies after each search or search in “incognito mode” which may bring back a slightly cheaper ticket.<br>

<b>2. BE FLEXIBLE AND TRAVEL IN THE OFF-SEASON</b><br>
If you want to find cheap flights you shouldn’t just be flexible about where you go, but when you go. Fly in the off-season to avoid crowds and get reduced ticket prices. Remember, the off-season is different if you’re going to the southern hemisphere. Going where the tickets are cheap will jump-start your travel.
I suggests you visit at least 3 websites to find the best deals and the cheapest flights. The more you research, the more likely you’ll strike on a good deal.
If you want some more tips and tricks, just comment below and I'll give you some!<br>

<b>3. PAY ATTENTION TO SCHOOL SEMESTERS</b><br>
Flight prices always rise slightly right after school semesters end or begin because that is when students must fly home (or back to school), or when families choose to take vacations. Depending on where you are, school semester end dates vary. Try playing around with different dates to see the prices before school’s out and after, so you can travel the world cheap.<br>

<b>4. PURCHASE TICKETS TOGETHER</b><br>
If you’re already planning to travel around the whole world or make several stops along the way, you can travel the world cheap by purchasing all your tickets together in a Round the World Ticket. Feel free to play around with flight planning a little bit. Check how much it would be to book every leg fo your trip separately, and then compare Round the World Ticket prices. Typically Round the World is cheaper overall because it bundles flights, even if it looks like a big chunk of cash up front.<br>

<b>5. FREE FLIGHTS</b><br>
Yes, this cheap travel tip is possible. The best way to get free flights is by getting some travel credit cards with a few airlines. Nomadic Matt has an excellent article on how to find the best travel credit cards for 2018, so you can travel the world on a budget. Many cards have sign up bonuses that can help you get started, and as you purchase more flights and make daily purchases you will get even more points. Sign up, get points, fly free. Tip: Track all of your rewards programs using your Travel Journal.
